Our Wool Mill was founded in 1977 and it was called “Impero” taking the name of the founder member Vito Imperio who, along with his two brothers, undertook the weaver’s craft activities for third parties as their first work experience. It was not by chance to choose his name in the company’s constitution.
“Wool Mill IMPERO” because of had to remain his memory for all in a company that had given birth, in fact Vito Imperio was already seriously ill and passed away before they were two years after the birth of the company. Initially the company was mainly working on the production of blankets destined for the Middle-East markets, from Kuwait to Yemen.
Relevant was also the plaid production for European market. The used raw materials were coming from mixed regenerated wool, from knitwear and fabrics cuttings , those that the wool mill, with its woolen spinning, transformed into yarns of various colors, titles and compositions. The various internal production processes, from wefting to weaving, to the fringing and raising, and then the finished product was wrapped and packaged, ready to be shipped in the various markets
From beginnig to end this production process was constantly and thoroughly checked by our qualified technicians. The technical study, the design of fabrics, colors and compositions and the commercial aspect was taken care of and made within two settlements of about 3000 square meters.
The marketing of our products were mainly intended to direct customers, but on several occasions, made use of the precious collaboration of commercial agents.

In the late ’80s, with the same principle of processing of raw materials and using the same production run, making use of special devices, we also began the production of carded wool fabrics from regenerated gradually abandoning the production of rugs and blankets.
With the passing of time, the company has increasingly specialized in the production of woven garment-fabrics destined for Autumn-Winter collections. Our fabrics are mainly used for the production of outerwear but also for other types of clothing, such as jackets and pants, intending to use mixed wool fabrics, wool-mohair, velour, cloths, flannels.
We are specialized in the production and realization of Shetland-Tweed wool fabrics and wool-mohair which are our flagship, on which we pay particular attention in all our collections.
Furthermore, our continuous technical research and the attention to detail has allowed us to produce various articles with details and relevant characteristics such as high resistance to pilling and abrasion, the water repellency, stability in the colors and elasticity. Our strong point is the production capacity to fully meet the creativity, quality and look, meticulously respecting our customers demands , without forgetting the incomparable originality of the’’ Made in Italy’’; for these reasons, research and creativity are the basis of our samples.The company , thanks to the production clothing fabrics is present in many European and non-European markets. Our future goals are many and concern the continuous study and constant research of new products and services edge developments that satisfy the customer in all its needs.
